Back to the Sea is dedicated to sparking curiosity for marine life and inspiring a desire to protect our ocean.

We're working hard to educate people of all ages all the while continuing to work towards opening a community aquarium along the Dartmouth Waterfront. This year, thanks to supporters like you, we made huge strides towards this goal.

Your tax deductible contribution will help keep this momentum going, bringing us one step closer to having the marine education facility all Nova Scotians have been looking forward to! 

Like sand dollars hiding in the sand,  there's more to our work than meets the eye. Read on to find out more!

This year was difficult, but thanks to our dedicated team and amazing supporters, we were able to pivot and continue to offer ocean education activities that engaged ocean lovers within Nova Scotia and across the country.  We launched a new program called Tidal Trekkers, which allowed nearly 100 people to discover our coasts while adhering to public health guidelines.

We also launched a new online educational series called Shell & Tell and released 19 episodes. You can watch them here. 

Meanwhile, behind the scenes we've been busy moving closer to our goal of opening a permanent aquarium on the Dartmouth waterfront. We're currently working with an architecture firm on a feasibility study. We're happy to report that we narrowed down our location of choice and are now working towards a facility design to bring to our potential funders. 

The feedback that our social media posts, programs, and videos have received this year been overwhelmingly positive and we were happy to hear that they helped to keep things light and fun. We are proud that our mini but mighty charity pulled through by creating engaging content and continuing to connect with those who share our love for the ocean and the creatures that live within it.

By supporting this campaign, you'll help us get one step closer to the exciting public reveal of the future aquarium location and design!

2020 has not been an easy year for anyone.
