Canada SCORES envisions a world where all youth find their voice, achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

Our Impact

Our participants experience improved self-esteem and empathy, and become better at conflict resolution and teamwork. Participants develop better physical fitness, have improved attitudes towards a healthy lifestyle, and demonstrate more healthy habits. Attitudes and engagements towards school are improved by our participants as well as their writing and speaking skills. As a result of our unique programs, our poet-athletes demonstrate an increased sense of connection with their community.

Canada SCORES is a registered charity in Canada, established in Burnaby, British Columbia. Since its inception in June 2013, Canada SCORES has been dedicated to delivering unique after-school programming at no cost as an affiliate of the America SCORES nonprofit network across North America.   Initiating its programs in January 2014, it started with 45 students across three Burnaby elementary schools. In 2024, the charity expanded its reach to the Greater Toronto Area and now collaborates with 17 schools across the Lower Mainland and the GTA. Currently through both core and extension programming, Canada SCORES supports almost 500 students in elementary & middle schools, continually striving to enrich the lives of children through its educational and athletic programs. Across the North American network, we collectively serve over 20,000 vulnerable children each year.

Canada SCORES invests approximately $10,000.00 into each after school program site we operate in partnership with local school boards.  Your investment into this campaign will ensure that Canada SCORES Toronto can continue to expand and provide positive youth development experiences to more vulnerable children in new sccol communities. We deliver a unique three-part curriculum that focuses on the development of a healthy body (physical activity / soccer), creative mind (literacy / poetry) and empathetic soul (community service projects). The invstment into each new FREE after school program ensure we can hire trusted adult mentors as Program Leaders, provide the required curriculum guides and tools, deliver a healthy snack program and provide experiential learning opportunities.
