Edmonton Circles of Support and Accountability Society hasn't added a story.

You can be a circle volunteer hero!
Your contribution makes you a HERO to CoSA circle volunteers.
‘Everyone needs to feel safe from sexual harm in their community.’ - CoSA circle community volunteer
Because of your contribution we can
coordinate and assist community volunteers in our circles of support
and accountability, work with agencies
of care, and communicate to you about
the prevention of sexual victimization.
No one can do this alone.
| A CoSA circle is made up of community volunteers who provide a sexual offender core member who has served a full term with the support & accountability he needs to not re-offend in your community. |
‘I find the results gratifying when a core circle member realizes the need to stop sexual victimization.’ - CoSA coordinator
You can feel safe with CoSA circles
CoSA is a Canadian-made program to reintegrate men and women into our community following their release from prison after a serious sexual offense - a core member. CoSA circles use restorative justice principles.
.
‘CoSA has been my safety net. I feel safe with this group. It’s easier to change with support and role models. One day I got told I was a role model.’ - Core circle member
.
Your contribution makes it possible for our trained volunteers to provide the circle of support and accountability a core member needs to deal with their issue: good role models, housing, medical appointments, filling out forms, etc. Agencies of care help the core member professionally while our circle volunteers walk the daily path of support, friendship and accountability.
.
‘He needed me to treat him like a human being and give him another chance. He needed the safety, support and accountability a core member gets from a circle of community volunteers.’ - Circle community volunteer.
| For your well being in the community, Edmonton CoSA creates circles of community volunteers around a core member to provide the support and accountability he needs to live in the community. Coordination with professionals and agencies of protection and care provide the supervision and client services needed. This is the CoSA Circle approach to keep you safe when a core member is reintegrated into our community. |
You can trust CoSA circles to empower our core members to want to keep you and the community safe.
The community is responsible for its victims and it’s offenders.
You ask, how is this possible? With circles of support and accountability. Sexual offenders are released from prison on the very last day of their sentence term, seldom with anyone in their lives and no parole supports for the problems and challenges they will face. They often have no money, no place to live, no good friends, and no community support.
.
‘The community didn’t want me here. I had no one, no safety net.’ - Core circle member
.
You can feel confident that Edmonton CoSA circle volunteers keep you safer in the community by supporting our core members to empower them to be accountable each day, through challenges such as mental health, work experience gaps, fear for their safety, heightened anxiety, and paranoia .
.
| You have to wonder…
‘He needed to be treated
like a human being and given another chance. He
needed the safety, support and accountability that
he gets from a CoSA circle.’
