Sun Peaks Bluebird Day Society 'aka' Bluebird Day Fund
Established in 2006 in memory of local rider Bryn Taylor, the Sun Peaks Bluebird Day Fund Society is to provide athletic and recreational programs to support the physical, mental, and emotional development of individuals, including those who are economically and/or socially disadvantaged, and who exhibit a commitment to the pursuit of their sport.
100% of our funding and donations go directly to support the youth in our programs. Over the years the BDF has had numerous programs including sending kids to camps, freestyle programs, park programs, and partnerships with BGC of Kamloops.
Our organization is 100% volunteer run, with its board of directors, and all those that assist with our programs. Every donation that we receive helps to assist in what we give back to the community and improve our youth program offerings!

Sun Peaks hosts the first annual Giving Tuesday in support of the many non-profit organizations that are truly the foundation of our community. Sun Peaks is a vibrant mountain resort municipality with no shortage of passionate and involved local residents who commit countless hours of volunteer time in dozens of community groups, clubs, and associations.
Today is a day to open your hearts to the many organizations that offer support to our community. Kindly make a donation on this date in support of our organization. Tourism Sun Peaks will be matching donations up to a pre-set maximum, so your donation will go even further!

Sports Mentorship Program
Our program coordinates volunteers to partner with selected youth from programs at the BGC of Kamloops and participate in on-snow alpine sessions at Sun Peaks Resort, BC. This program is organized with the assistance of volunteer board directors and in partnership with the BGC.
Our program organizes finding volunteers to mentor and supervise alpine skiing and snowboarding at Sun Peaks Resort, for up to 15 youth. The BDF covers the cost of passes, equipment, transportation, and meals. These sessions run from January to April for 6-7 sessions and includes an all-day experience for these youth to have a memorable experience skiing and snowboarding with their peers and the volunteers that assist in this program. Our volunteers assist with getting rental equipment fitted, teaching and coaching those who are new to alpine skiing, having lunch together and making sure that everyone has an enjoyable experience on the mountain.
Since partnering with the BGC of Kamloops we have matched 100 pairs of ‘Bigs’ and ‘Littles’ together to ski and snowboard on the slopes. Not only are the kids developing and perfecting skills, but they also benefit from a positive mentorship connection.
We are hoping to expand the mentorship program into the summer months, with different activities and opportunities to support these youth.
Sports Assistance Program
This program aids youth in sports, to help with reimbursement for costs for assistance to pay for sports related expenses. These could include coaching fees, travel, and meal expenses to training and competitions, competition fees, and other items relating to support them in their respective sports. Applicants can register with the Society, and then apply for up to $500 in reimbursable expenses.
