Our Story & Why Donate
Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks (ASSP) is a non-profit dedicated to creating accessible outdoor recreation for people living with disabilities.
Based at Sun Peaks Mountain Resort, ASSP removes barriers to participation through specialized adaptive equipment, affordable programming, and highly trained volunteer instructors. Our year-round programs include adaptive skiing and snowboarding, as well as our newly launched adaptive mountain biking program. We welcome individuals with physical, visual, neurodivergent, and other disabilities.
For many of our participants, access to outdoor recreation can be limited by cost, equipment, accessibility, or the availability of trained support. Your donation helps us remove those barriers and create opportunities for individuals to experience the outdoors in ways that may not otherwise be possible.
Through adaptive recreation, ASSP helps participants build skills and confidence, increase independence, stay active, develop meaningful social connections, and experience a greater sense of inclusion and belonging in their community.
When you donate to ASSP, you are helping make outdoor adventure more accessible. Your support helps provide the equipment, training, and resources needed to create safe, inclusive opportunities for individuals living with disabilities—while helping our programs grow and reach more people in our community.
Tourism Sun Peaks is committing up to a maximum of $12,000 as one shared campaign contribution to our local Non-Profit Organizations.
(It is not an automatic or equal payment to participating organizations. Each organization’s share will be determined by its fundraising results during the campaign.)
