We are a registered charity located in Vancouver, BC. We rescue 130,000+ pounds of food each month that would have gone to waste, deliver food to 50 nonprofit partners, deliver custom grocery home delivery boxes to ~125 low-income households with disabilities and chronic illnesses, and serve an average of 120 Rescued Food Market members weekly. 

Inspired by the documentary Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story, David Schein, a local school teacher, started collecting food from grocery stores that would have otherwise been thrown away. Alongside volunteers, he started delivering to charities with food programs and then expanded to food box delivery for 9 struggling families. Now, we operate out of a warehouse located in Mount Pleasant, have 3 trucks on the road 7 days a week and feed over 11,000 individuals each week across all our programs.
