About the Web APP!
The app allows for customizing the content so that parents and teachers can set up a student profile with access to specific modules. Each module includes a coaching resource to support parents and educators, additional activies, downloadable group activities, media that can be explored for the module topic.
Every resource is inclusive and built with the purpose of supporting sexual and gender diversity. All content is vetted by focus groups that include transgender, queer, disabled, neurodivergent and culturally diverse individuals.
Sex Education is a HUMAN RIGHT, yet many of us struggle with navigating every detail of the topic. When it comes time for the dreaded "talk", where do we even begin? As Parents and Educators how can we de-stigmatize sex education as well as making it understandable? How can we ensure our youth have access to accurate and timely information?
Comprehensive, shame-free information about our bodies, relationships and sexuality has been positively correlated with decreases in sexual assault, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection rates!
Sex Ed Connect is an accessible web application that will be available to the public at no cost, with inclusive information about healthy bodies, healthy relationships, puberty, consent, reproduction, contraceptives, harm reduction, gender, and sexual diversity for all ages, developmental abilities and cultures.
Sex Ed Connect will include videos, audio book downloads, print-outs, and activities for folk of all ages, training modules for parents and educators and even sex ed kits sold at cost for both classrooms and family learning settings. There are modules tailored for folk with intellectual disabilities, and/or physical disabilities.
Our goal is $125,000. This amount will allow us to set up a high quality, information rich web app filled with resources on all aspects of sexual health and wellness, all available right at your fingertips! All information will be inclusive (respecting human diversity and moving beyond the commonly used heteronoramtive, cisnormative lens). The best part? Once up and running it will take very little investment to maintain. This makes for a sustainable project that can benefit folk all over the globe!

Who Are We?
The Alberta Sex Positive Education Community Centre (ASPECC) is a sex-positive, non-profit organization that was founded by sex-positive individuals with the goal of providing a Safe(r) space to support the public by offering shame-free sex education resources with a focus on consent, sexual empowerment, and sexual diversity. We operate out of pop-up locations across the province, as well as online.
At ASPECC we have been providing individual sex education services, presentations, webinars and even university content since 2015! We vow to bring our inclusive, shame free values to this program as well!

- At $50,000 we will begin with the web app and basic sexual health content (consent, reproduction, birth control)
- At $75,000 we will be able to add content that is pan-disability centred, with a focus on resources for persons with developmental disabilities and intellectual disabilities.
- At $100,000 We be expand the content to include more sexual health information, including some videos: sexuality, gender, healthy relationships, how to know when you are ready for sex, sexual boundaries, more expanded information on birth control and sti prevention; more concrete teaching on consent
- At $125,000 our content will include: Body diversity and body-shaming biases; sexual diversity and healthy same sex relationships; relationship diversity and navigating consensual frameworks; Gender roles and their impact on consent and sexual empowerment; Pornography: the difference between visual stimulation and exploitative content; sexting and internet safety; FAQ database from our Ask a Sex Coach series, video and resource series for parents and educators on teaching sex positive sex ed; our video series Sex Ed: More Than The Talk to help parents, caregivers and educators be able to speak confidently about sexuality, and our Pan-Ability Sex Ed videos. This content will be available to individuals and educators for FREE. We will also add our Sex Ed Kits at a REASONABLE price, rather than the overinflated price that these kits are sold at for educators.

We will be able to include videos such as “Using a Pregnancy Test” and “What to Expect at Your First Pap” that address sexual health for young adults and first time how to’s. We will also add to our shop Puberty Kits to get your tween set for this amazing developmental stage of life.

We will be able to add a series on consent, with first person POV for navigating dating, crushes, rejection, setting sex boundaries and more!
