The FRDC's mission is to inspire passionate stewards of the Fraser River.

The Fraser River is vitally important. It is the longest river in British Columbia, stretching 1,375 km. The river and its tributaries are home to one of the most productive salmon fisheries in the world. The Fraser River basin supports an abundance of wildlife as it includes many biomes: alpine tundra, coniferous forest, grasslands, and coastal rainforest. The river basin is also home to 3 million people, nearly 70% of British Columbians.

As an interpretive centre dedicated to sharing the stories of the river, the FRDC is home to interactive exhibits and offers a variety of programs for learners of all ages. We are also working with Musqueam partners to develop the FRDC as xʷtatəl̕ləm, a Place of Learning about the Indigenous heritage and teachings of the river.
