I am walking to raise money for our local Hospice on Sunday May 1st.
I am taking part in this in-person walk to honor the life of my best friend Mrs. Ann Tuzyk and all those who have and are facing their own death with integrity, bravery and dignity.
Hospice provides a home like atmosphere to all those in their last days here, providing palliative care at its very best. They also provide help to all family members in their loss and bereavement.
Hospice is a volunteer based, non profit establishment that runs by and through the generosity of those of us living who so kindly donate.
We all know someone we have loved, who has had the opportunity to leave our world helped and cradled by the caring arms of a Hospice.
Please donate to this most charitable cause I will walk for on Sunday May 1st 2022.
I am so happy to tell you today, our Team has grown. Ann's loving and caring husband, Peter Tuzyk and my life long companion and husband, Dan Shilling have both joined Team Tuzyk/Shilling in the walk for our local Hospice.
Both Peter and Dan have been their wives main caregivers during their Terminal diagnoses. They continue to honor Ann's life and to cheer me on.
I can't thank these men enough for their never ending love, support and care for both Ann and myself... but we all can show them some love by donating what we can and supporting them in their walk for Hospice.

Hospice Orillia and Mariposa House Hospice are excited to be joining forces for the 2022 annual Hike for Hospice!!
As a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic we have experienced a shift in what our normal was, and how it will be going forward. Local businesses and charitable organizations that we value and respect were affected in ways we never imagined possible. Many unable to proceed with face-to-face events, with the annual Hike for Hospice being no exception.
With the local restrictions gradually being eased, we are excited to announce the return of the face-to-face Hike for Hospice.
On Sunday, May 1st, 2022, we will gather in person for the 12th annual Hike for Hospice in support of Hospice Orillia and Mariposa House Hospice.
The Hike for Hospice is integral for both organizations as it enhances our sense of community, increases awareness of Hospice Palliative Care, and raises much-needed funds. 100% of the proceeds stay in the Orillia area by directly supporting the services offered by Hospice Orillia and Mariposa House Hospice; these organizations work together to provide services across the continuum of hospice palliative care, from diagnosis through end-of-life, including bereavement support for surviving loved ones.
We look forward to having you join in person for the 2022 Hike for Hospice. Details on what the day will entail are to follow at a later date.
